From a series of paintings celebrating Nantucket's history, ACK 1602 is one of my glass paintings. Using the famous Nantucket Red with a warm golden 1602, a single layer of glass spheres forms the shape of this storied island. As the viewer moves or the light changes, the shimmer of the island's shape appears. Looks great as a single piece of artwork or with one or more of the other ACK Year Paintings.
1602 was the year that Nantucket was first charted and was done so by Bartholomew Gosnold.
